Polyaniline is a crafted advanced material, and the blueprint has its own trigger. Picking up Gold alone is not enough if the Flowering Spore trigger has not been completed.

Pick up a Flowering Spore in the Deep Lilypads Cave to unlock the Polyaniline blueprint, then craft it at the Fabricator with one Gold and one Hydrochloric Acid. It is not a loose mineral pickup.

Separate the recipe into two checks: locate a Flowering Spore to trigger the blueprint, then bring Gold and Hydrochloric Acid to a Fabricator. Searching the seabed for a finished Polyaniline item will not work.
