Can't Find Gold in Subnautica
Gold is an outcrop resource and later large-deposit material, not a reliable loose pickup on the early seabed. The fastest early search is the Sandstone and Shale outcrop route.

Begin around Kelp Forest and Grassy Plateaus Sandstone Outcrops, where Gold is one possible result. In the Jellyshroom Caves or Lost River, Gold can also come from Shale or Large Gold Deposits, which are better for stockpiling.
