Can't Find Silver in Subnautica

Silver Ore is an early electronics resource hidden inside Sandstone Outcrops, with a second route through Barnacles. If you only search for loose ore, you can miss the resource entirely.

ANSWER LOCK // QUICK RESPONSE

Break Sandstone Outcrops in the Kelp Forest, Grassy Plateaus, and nearby cave routes. You can also harvest Silver Ore from Barnacles; it is not normally a loose seabed pickup in the early game.

Look for the darker, porous Sandstone Outcrop rather than Limestone. Check cave walls and floors in the Kelp Forest and Grassy Plateaus, then use Barnacles as an alternate route when available.

ACCESS LOCKED // OPEN TO REVEAL

Start by breaking Sandstone Outcrops around the Kelp Forest and Grassy Plateaus. If you have access to Reefbacks, harvest their Barnacles for another Silver Ore source; large Silver Deposits are a later bulk-mining option in deeper biomes.

COMMON REASONS YOU ARE STUCK

  • Searching for loose Silver Ore on the seabed
  • Breaking Limestone Outcrops and expecting Silver
  • Checking only the Safe Shallows
  • Confusing Silver Ore with Lead or Gold from the same outcrop family
