Can't Find Cave Sulfur in Subnautica

Cave Sulfur is inside Sulfur Plants, guarded by Crashfish. The resource is easy to miss because the plant is empty only after its resident fish has left.

LAST CHECK

ANSWER LOCK // QUICK RESPONSE

Search Sulfur Plants in Safe Shallows Caves or Kelp Forest Caves. Lure the Crashfish out, evade its explosion, then return to the plant and collect the Cave Sulfur.

Look for the pale Sulfur Plant in a cave. The yellow resource is inside the plant, not loose on the cave floor.

03 // EXACT ANSWERExact answerFULL SPOILER
ACCESS LOCKED // OPEN TO REVEAL

In Safe Shallows Caves or Kelp Forest Caves, approach a Sulfur Plant until the Crashfish exits, swim away or use the Seaglide to clear the blast, then return to the opened plant. Do not destroy the plant if you want it to remain a repeatable source.

COMMON REASONS YOU ARE STUCK

  • Searching for Crystalline Sulfur in the lava zones
  • Checking the floor instead of Sulfur Plants
  • Destroying the plant before collecting the powder
  • Chasing the Crashfish into another hazard
